Well this summer I have been doing pretty much work. Until the missions trip to P.A. with Christian Endeavor, I was in a worship band for GBEPC (see about me), but after we did the praise band for Christian Endeavor we stopped...I honestly think we should keep going, we could learn a lot more songs that way and be more prepared...instead of scrambling to get things done...I attended practice for the worship team for Church on the Rock, but I have decided that God wants me at GBEPC. The Missions trip to P.A. was awesome...I got away from home and all the worries about it, that was very needed. It's easy to say the missions trip was my vacation for the year.
Now we will go on from today on what I have done. Well my parents are out of town, and my brother went back to work up in Cumberland. So i got the house to myself all day. I spent most of the day learning HTML. :D then Justin D. picked me up and we went over Alex's saw Cassie and Justin H. off to go camping with the Nolen's and then we went and watch the Blues Brothers. That's a good movie, I found it amusing. Now I am at home, Scott Newman is over "watching" me.
All of a sudden now I have started getting urges to read. It's weird because i used to hate reading. But now I am slowly turning into a book worm. Not that i was last year. I mean i almost read the whole kid and adult series of Left Behind. Heh. i was at school though and there wass nothing else to do. Now I am working on 9 'O Clock in the Morning. it is a book about an Episcopalian preacher who received the Holy Spirit, and has the gift of speaking in tongues. and it gives a greater picture of how the Holy Spirit works. It is a really good book and i highly recommend it to anyone who wants to know about the Holy Spirit. Also the book is based off of a true story. So you guys may know my beleifs on the Holy Spirit are, the Holy Spirit still does works today, just as in Bible times. These include Speaking in toungues, prophecy, healing, etc. I am open to debate. If you believe otherwise.
Which reminds me of another subject which breaks my heart. This subject is the divisions between denominations of Churches. The flood in Millvale brought the community closer together. Including the denominations of the churches. Methodist, Catholic, Luthern, any domination you could think of that was there were working together. And I envy that. Church polotics is horrible now-a-days, "Spiritual revival is happining all over the worl except America"
- Church politicians focus on the other churches beliefs and attack those instead of ministering
- Churches go out to "minister" but end up competing with another denomination, to make a long story short they end up focus more on "winning" than on our Creator and Lord. For which should be our only reason for going out there in the first place.
- Spend More money on "improving" the churches in uneccessary ways. Such as motion detector toliet and faucets, automatic doors, video games ( I have seen this), pool tables, air hockey tables. Doing these things to get more people in their domination. Basically because they are richer, but they deny that. Instead of spending money to support missions, to sponser kids not wealthy enough to go to Christian events ( Impact, Aquire the Fire, Creation, Victory Jam, etc.)
All these reasons are rooted to Churches fighting.Thats pretty much it until next time, God Bless
